Additional route restrictions and restrictions for certain cargoes
🇪🇸 Spain — route and regional restrictions
The DGT publishes restrictions for specific dates, roads and vehicle categories, including transport over 7.5 t, ADR and special or oversized loads. Catalonia, the Basque Country and Navarre have separate competent authorities. Annual resolutions and monthly or temporary notices are updated; without all road sections and regional resolutions, this calendar is not exhaustive for Spain.
🇵🇹 Portugal — Porto, VCI and dangerous goods
VCI (Porto Inner Ring Road): From 15 September 2026, weekday traffic between 07:00 and 21:00 is restricted for goods vehicles with a maximum authorised mass over 3,500 kg, three or more axles and a height of at least 1.1 m, measured vertically at the first axle. An exception applies to certain loading/unloading operations originating or ending in the municipalities of Porto or Vila Nova de Gaia, subject to prior registration and approval. Affected vehicles are exempt from tolls on the A41/IC24 (CREP) as an alternative route. Check the conditions and exceptions before entering the area. Consult the latest official IMT guidance for the VCI and alternative route. This is a separate permanent route restriction, not a complete list of all Portuguese temporary and regional bans; check current notices from the IMT and the road operator.
Dangerous goods: In Portugal, restrictions apply to certain vehicles carrying dangerous goods on specific roads and at certain times. For example, some sections have restrictions on Fridays, Sundays, national holidays and their eves between 18:00 and 21:00. Separate rules also apply to tankers carrying dangerous goods. The exact scope depends on the route, cargo and applicable exemptions. Consult the latest official IMT guidance on the carriage of dangerous goods.
Variable and temporary restrictions — all countries
Restrictions due to roadworks, incidents, weather, holiday traffic, sporting or public events, tunnels, bridges, environmental zones and specially authorised transport may not be reflected in the general calendar or may change after publication. This calendar is a planning aid, not a guarantee that a route is clear. Before each journey, check official notices from the national road authority and, where relevant, regional authorities, the road or tunnel operator and the police. Also confirm the vehicle category, cargo type, direction of travel and time of passage.

🇧🇪 Belgium / 🇳🇱 Netherlands — limited coverage
This calendar does not provide a complete check of all national and local restrictions in Belgium and the Netherlands. Do not interpret the absence of a calendar entry as a guarantee of unrestricted travel: local bans, environmental zones, bridges/tunnels, ADR rules, oversized-load permits and temporary measures must be checked with the official authorities for the specific route.
